Square Enix is investigating Final Fantasy XI on Vita

As AndriaSang reports director of Final Fantasy XI, Hiromichi Tanaka expressed interested in bringing his MMO game to PlayStation Vita in a recent Famitsu interview. In fact, the studio is supposedly investigating on if a straight port would be possible on Vita. The first Final Fantasy MMO was previously released on PS2, PC, and Xbox 360 before having a failed successor released last year in Final Fantasy XIV.

This would be the first Square Enix game announced for PlayStation Vita, though I’m sure there will be a tonne more in the future. Are you excited at the prospects of having a world of opponents in an MMO in your pocket? Would you wish Square Enix would devote their resources to something better?
